Let’s take a look at the menu items that Hardee’s has to offer.
Hardee’s signature dish is its burgers. Arguably the most well-known of all of these is the iconic The Big Hardee ($5.74), which features two charbroiled patties served with two slices of melted cheese, lettuce, and Hardee’s classic sauce. At 920 calories per serving, this burger is filling and delicious.
If this isn’t quite the burger you’re looking for, then there are several others to choose from. Hardee’s offers over 20 burgers made from beef that are also served with a combination of cheese, bacon, salad, and different sauces. They also sell burgers made from black Angus beef to give a higher quality meal. Prices of all burgers range from $3.19 to $10.49. You can also upgrade to a medium or large combo for $0.59 and $0.99 respectively.
Hardee’s is also known for its delicious chicken offerings. As well as chicken sandwiches, there are chicken tenders that can be bought in servings ranging from 3 pieces ($3.99) to a family-sized 20 pieces ($18.99).
Hardee’s sells a wide range of breakfast dishes that can be purchased throughout the day. The most filling of these is the Hardee Breakfast Platter ($3.89) which is sure to kickstart your day. For smaller appetites, you can instead opt for biscuits loaded with sausage, egg, or omelets (Sausage Biscuit - currently 1 Pc.$1.99, 2 Pc. - $2.49, Cinnamon ‘N’ Raisin Biscuit - 1 Pc. $1.29, 2 Pc. $2.09, 6 Pc. $4.99).
In recent years, Hardee’s has expanded its menu to include its Red Burrito line. These Mexican-inspired dishes are only available at participating restaurants, however, and have not yet expanded throughout the entire Hardee’s chain.
Red Burrito offers many popular Mexican meals such as tacos ($1.19 to $5.49), quesadillas ($1.99 to $2.99), and burritos ($2.39 to $5.29). Most of these are available in beef and chicken varieties and Hardee’s also has some vegetarian options, such as the bean, rice, and cheese burrito ($2.39) and cheese quesadilla ($1.99).
For kids, Hardee’s has its Star Pals menu starting from $3.99. These meals group together a kid-sized serving of fries, a kid’s drink, and a choice of either a hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, or hot dog. Each meal is also served with a toy. Depending on the meal and choice of drink, these have between 420 and 640 calories.
If you fancy something smaller and cheaper, you can choose from Hardee’s Value Meals. Included in this section of the menu are small hamburgers (currently $1.49), a double cheeseburger (currently $2.49), and a side salad (currently $1.69).
You can choose from a selection of sides to complete your order. French fries are available in small ($1.79), medium ($1.99), and large portions ($2.19). You can also order crispy curls (L $1.79, M $1.99, S $2.19), and beer battered onion rings ($2.19, and Jalapeño Poppers (Limited Time) (6 Pc. $2.69). These prices are current and subject to change.
There is currently only one dessert option - a Chocolate Chip Cookie bursting with chocolate chips which crumbles in your fingers- costing less than a dollar too!
Wash your food down with coffee, orange juice, milk, shakes, or water at Hardee’s. Prices start at $1.69 for a small beverage, whilst coffees are $1.29 to $1.79, milk is $1.29, shakes are around $3.29, and Dasani water is under $2.
All of the calorie information for Hardee’s food items are clearly labeled in both the restaurants and on Hardee’s website. Most burgers are in the 500 to 800-calorie range but a few do top the scales at over 900 calories so if you’re watching your weight, you should avoid these.
Several items on the Red Burrito menu are lower in calories and are a better choice for those on diets. For example, the hard shell beef taco is only 170 calories. Many of the items are high in fats and sodium so if these are concerns, make sure you check the individual information for each food item.
Hardee’s has a large number of restaurants that are largely spread across the East coast and some central states. Despite the heavy concentration in the east, the chain has restaurants found as far west as Montana and Wyoming.
In total, there are currently 1,727 locations and these can be found in 31 different states and territories and 1,136 cities. If you’re in North Carolina, you’re sure to find a Hardee’s wherever you go as the state has the highest number of restaurants with a total of 224 restaurants.
