As well as serving an all-day breakfast, Black Bear Diner has a large menu that caters to every meal of the day. They have menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, and have a “cubs” menu for children.
We’ll list some of the types of dishes they sell here, but note that your local restaurant may vary!
Breakfast will never be the same again after you eat at Black Bear Diner. The Hungry Bear Breakfast menu items are the biggest portions for the hungriest bears. Here, you can choose an additional side, as well, to complete your breakfast.
If you’re in need of a large breakfast, you can choose The Grizz, which is currently $13.49. This feast comprises three eggs, two sweet cream pancakes, two slices of thick-cut smoked bacon, a smoked ham steak, and two sausage links steak. Or, there is the Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs for the same price, and is just as filling. This consists of 10 oz of tender beef which is then smothered in gravy, before being served with three eggs and two Black Bear Diner home-made biscuits.
The classic 2 egg combos currently range from $9.99 to $14.99 and are hugely popular with regular and new customers.
Your options are things like Chicken Fried Steak And Eggs, or the Italian Sausage and Egg that is spiced with chili, cayenne pepper and paprika!
The Hickory Smoked Ham And Eggs, currently $10.49, is another classic with generous, thick-cut slices, as seen in this traditional breakfast favorite. You name it, and Black bear Diner will probably have it! Or, if you want something simpler, you can just have the eggs for under $10.00.
All pancakes, waffles, and French toast are dusted with powdered sugar and served with warm syrup. You can add fresh fruit and whipped cream for just $2.69, too. At the moment, pancakes and waffles range from $7.49 to $14.67, but the cheapest items tend to be special offers. Sometimes, there may be seasonal items on the menu, such as Pumpkin Pancakes, during fall season from as little as $7.49, but prices are subject to change.
Popular choices are The Volcano, currently for $12.56, with bacon, sausage, and pancakes (the perfect breakfast!) There is also the Cinnamon Roll French toast, which is a firm favorite for many and is a little cheaper at around $10.
In terms of Omelettes, meat lovers can choose the Bruce’s Meat Lover’s Omelette with ham, bacon, link sausage, and jack cheese, or Joe’s Hobo Omelette loaded with ham, link sausage, bacon, jack cheese, cheddar cheese, spinach, and onion. For vegetarians, there is the Vegetarian Omelette for around $11.29, packed with mushroom, tomato, onion, bell pepper, spinach, and jack cheese.
But, if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, opt for the Shasta scramble made with avocado, tomato, spinach, onion, bell pepper, and jack cheese.
You have to try Bears Benedicts! All Benedicts are served with fresh fruit, for a healthy, helping hand to get your fruits into your diet. You can also choose an additional side, if you were feeling wild! Your options are California Bacon Benedict or the Classic Eggs Benedict, currently starting at $11.49. This delight is made with split English muffin, thick-cut sliced bacon, spinach, two poached eggs, avocado, and grilled tomato slices, all covered in a generous amount of Hollandaise sauce.
The Classic Eggs Benedict is a little more expensive, but every cent is worth it when you can dig into a split English muffin, sliced ham, and two poached eggs, also drenched in Hollandaise sauce.
You can add some sides to your order to complete your meal, such as the strip-cut hash browns for under $4.00, country red potatoes for the same price, or a fresh fruit bowl, currently from $5.99.
There’s also a specialty breakfast such as avocado toast for just $11.49 at the moment! You could opt for a smaller breakfast from the Little Less menu, though, such as the Mini Volcano for around $9.00, or the Biscuit and Gravy for under $8.00. Your options are almost endless!
Made with a 6 oz all-beef patty, all burgers are built with a golden brioche bun, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickle chips, mayonnaise, and housemade Thousand Island dressing. You can even lettuce wrap any burger upon request, which subtracts over 200 calories from your order.
If you like, you can also substitute for Dr. Praeger’s veggie patty. This is available on any of Black Bear Diner’s burgers for $1.39 right now.
The Hungry Bear burgers include the California burger, Parmesan Sourdough Cheeseburger, Western BBQ Burger, and Bacon & Cheddar Burger, all currently for $10.99 each.
Fancy something more traditional? The classic Chicken Strips Basket is under $10 at the moment, and consists of four breaded chicken tenders, served alongside your choice of BBQ, or bacon ranch dressing
Time to be a little healthier? No problem! Big Bear Diner has entrée-sized salads and delicious salad Dressings, including Bacon Ranch, Bleu Cheese, and Thousand Island. If you want something that is gluten-free or fat-free, you can order Gluten-Free Balsamic, and Fat-Free Italian Salads, which are typically around $10.99.
Sometimes, some simple sides make a meal complete. You can order the usuals at Big bear Diner, such as French fries, made-to-order coleslaw, house salad, and even a cup of soup.
You can also upgrade your sides to include sweet potato fries for an additional $0.89, and a cup of chili for $0.99. Prices may vary based on location, however.
Breakfast isn’t just for the morning! At Black Bear Diner, you can enjoy breakfast for dinner!
Enjoy each platter as described. All entrées are served with cheesy bacon grits. And, of course! You can love these any time of day or night! One popular option is Pork Chops & Eggs for around $15.00. This is not only filling but one of the tastiest options on the entire menu! You can also opt for Chicken, Waffles and Eggs for under $20.00, as well as Chicken Fried Steak Benedict, currently for $17.17.
You can opt for a full-course dinner, such as a Santa Maria Tri Tip Dinner for around $16.35. This feast is made up of a 10 oz of marinated tri-tip that has been seasoned with a Santa Maria combination of spices, such as salt, garlic, cracked black pepper, and parsley.
The Children’s menu has breakfast (served all day), lunch, dinner, and dessert with prices ranging from $4.69 (breakfast), $4.99 (lunch & dinner), and $4.99 (desserts). There are also beverage options ranging from $2.59 to $4.99, based on location.
Time for the best part! Desserts tend to range from $4.99 for the Apple Cobbler, with sweet cinnamon apples that are topped with a woven lattice crust., up to $9.00. We recommend the Pumpkin Cheesecake which is wonderfully creamy. It is made with a combination of spices, and is topped with chopped pecans and whipped cream.
Another fan favorite is the 5 Layer Chocolate Cake, which you can add à la mode for an additional $1.50. Tuck into “five layers of moist chocolate cake finished with an elegant dark chocolate ganache.” WOW!
You can wash your food down with a selection of beverages, ranging from $2 for juices and kids milk, up to $6 for floats and milkshakes. Huckleberry Lemonade is a best-selling drink at Black Bear Diner. This sun-kissed lemonade is combined with huckleberry syrup for a perfect refreshment. You also have one free refill with the drink.
An Arnold Palmer is another popular beverage. This classic consists of fresh brewed Lipton iced tea with lemonade.
If you fancy a hot beverage you can order a Bottomless coffee, which is full-bodied, and wonderfully smooth. There is also an iced cold brew for $2.99 right now, which is served on ice and a free refill is available.
You may love the traditional creamy vanilla iced cold brew, currently for $3.99. This classic drink sees the cold brew coffee mixed with sweet, vanilla cream with a single serving of ice.
If you prefer tea, you can order a Bottomless Iced Tea, a Bottomless Sweet Tea for under $3.00 or a Hot Tea.
