About the Menu

When people say 99 Restaurant specializes in bar and pub food, they really do mean it, especially with the huge selection of steaks, ribs and burgers you can choose from. From a Vermont Cheddar Burger for under $14.00 and a T-bone Steak for around $20.59, all the way to King Sized Sirloin Tips, currently priced at $22.49, 99 definitely asks a lot for its food with most items being at least $15 each. However, the selection on display really is outstanding.

Seafood and Combos

It’s not just the savory and rich meat that stands out though, 99 offers a much smaller seafood menu featuring the likes of fresh Balsamic Salmon for under $20.00, and the New England Fish Fry, for a bit cheaper at under $14.00. Although cheaper, the New England Fish Fry is tasty enough to satisfy all those seafood enthusiasts.

Real Size Entrées

The Real Size Entrée menu also features a few lighter dishes, all currently priced at $9.99 (apart from the Southwest Fajita Steak Bowl consisting of fresh pico de gallo, corn, guacamole, jalapeños, steamed rice, black beans, and a generous drizzle of chipotle sauce, with a topping of Chicken, Shrimp, or Steak. This is currently $12.39. Many customers have regarded this as the best bang for your buck with the Chopped Angus also being a fan favorite, consisting of grilled Angus Chopped Sirloin that has been seasoned and flame broiled. It is served on top of Tuscan toast with bleu cheese, mushrooms, and burgundy sauce.

Some of the other options include a Crunchy Ranch Crusted Chicken, Braised Short Rib Tacos and a Southwest Fajita Chicken Bowl. While these are technically considered ‘Starters’ by 99’s standards, they are still incredibly appetizing and definitely the most worthwhile part of the menu.

Kids Menu and Desserts

There is also a decently sized kid’s menu to please your little ones that features smaller versions of the main menu burgers, such as the Kids Plain Junior burger, and a cheeseburger. The Mac & Cheese is a particular standout, along with a good selection of desserts, currently ranging from only $2.59 up to around $6.69. The delightful Towering Midnight Fudge Cake is a firm favorite amongst visitors, and with a name like that, it would be hard not to order it!

Lunch and Drinks

Many people come to the 99 restaurants for the Lunch menu alone. This has a diverse mix of food items, such as the Honey BBQ Chicken Wrap for under $12.00. A popular choice, this wrap is made with crispy chicken tenders that have been drenched in honey BBQ sauce and wrapped up with lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and cheddar and Jack cheeses.

One quick look and you’ll find a host of items to your liking.

Of course, we can’t forget a tasty, refreshing drink to wash down all that mouth watering food. One of the most famous items on the 99 menu is the IBC Root Beer, which is regarded by many as some of the best beer they have ever tasted, and at just $3.29 a bottle at the moment, it’s a must-try when you visit.

All in all, while 99 Restaurants' menu can be on the much pricier side, it’s incredibly big and gives you plenty of choices - perfect for those special occasions and meals out with the family.

Nutrition and Allergen Information

Depending on what you choose to order from 99 Restaurant, the nutritional value will differ greatly since while a lot of their meat choices can be extremely high in calories, their soups and side dishes are actually fairly healthy and still a joy to eat.

If you do want a meaty main dish that’s a little lower on calories, 99’s Hot Dogs are only around 600 calories on average, making them a much healthier option, especially when paired up with one of their House Salads. Additionally, the steak options are also a lot healthier than most of the other meat options with the Top Sirloin Steak only containing 290 calories and the Grilled Pork Rib-eye Steak clocking in a bit higher at 530.

Unless you’re really craving that deep and rich meaty taste of a burger, we would advise avoiding them if you are trying to stick to a diet since they are actually one of the menu options that are highest in their calorie levels with the All-Star Burger containing 1850 on its own. It is also advised to stay away from the Ultimate Nachos which can reach up to 2000 calories and contain over 4000 mg of sodium because of how many greasy extra ingredients are layered on top of them.

In terms of allergen information, all of 99’s starters and wings contain soy and wheat along with all of their burgers and seafood except for the Balsamic Salmon and the Seasoned Salmon. All steak options are also free from any soy or wheat along with the Balsamic Grilled Chicken, though all other chicken options contain both.

While all sides contain soy, only the Honey Butter Biscuits and Rice Pilaf contain wheat, however it should be noted that there is also an entire gluten sensitive menu that features a good range of burgers, chicken dishes and seafood that can be enjoyed, along with a few different salads that you are able to choose from.

In general however, 99’s does have one of the unhealthier menus compared to many of its counterparts, so it’s good to always keep this in mind.

Locations

99 Restaurant is primarily based in Massachusetts with 61 stores being located there, however, it has started branching out into other states including Connecticut, New Hampshire and New York.

It must be said that this expansion is taking a while however, so if you want a taste of the delicious pub grub that 99 Restaurant has to offer, it’s worth traveling to Massachusetts.
