Red Lobster

Red Lobster began its life over 50 years ago in Lakeland, Florida, in 1968. It began with one man, Bill Darden, who had a dream of providing delicious and high-quality seafood at a price which typical, working people could afford. As well as those who lived near the coast, he wanted to bring seafood to those who lived far away from the sea. His desire was to bring it to them regardless of gender, religion, race, or economic background. In its 50-year history, Red Lobster has grown massively. Beginning with that one restaurant in Lakeland, it now has over 700 franchises in the US alone, and even more in different locations across the globe, including branches in China, Mexico, and Japan.

About the Menu

Whatever you’re looking for, Red Lobster offers something for everyone.

Mains

The mains at Red Lobster come in all shapes and sizes. For the mains, they have a wide variety of seafood dishes, including pastas and soups.

Classics

The Classics menu at Red Lobster mainly consists of seafood. However, if meat is more what you’re after, there’s also steaks and chicken available.

Prices currently start at around $8 (Classical Caesar Salad) with the most expensive being just under $20 (Full Crab Linguini Alfredo). Altogether, there are 3 options for the Classics with various sizes available.

Seafood

If seafood is what you’re after then you’ve come to the right place. On Red Lobster’s Classics menu alone, there are 12 seafood dishes.

If you’re looking for something a bit different, then you should definitely try Red Lobster’s brand-new dish, Grilled Red Argentinian Shrimp for under $20. In this meal, you get two wild-caught jumbo red shrimp skewers. The shrimp is served over rice, and you also get a choice of two sides.

The other new dish on the Classics menu is Lobster topped stuffed flounder for about $20 too, which is reasonably priced. This dish consists of wild-caught flounder which is roasted with seafood stuffing. It is then topped with Maine and langostino lobster and cooked in a creamy lobster sauce. This dish is served with a choice of two sides.

Today’s Catch

If you’re looking for something more tried and tested, then the Classics menu offers the Today’s Catch selection (typically around $23, full of delicious, fresh tasting dishes.

In the Today’s Catch selection, there is plenty of choice. If you want something a bit simpler, I would recommend Atlantic salmon, or rainbow trout. Both of these are served with lemon which perfectly brings out the flavors, along with a choice of two sides.

If you want something from the Today’s Catch selection, but a bit more flavorsome, you should opt for Salmon New Orleans (currently $22). This consists of salmon cooked in a Cajun butter sauce, topped with shrimp. This is also served with lemon and a choice of two sides. This dish comes in two sizes, half and full. If you’re feeling hungry, the full size is definitely worth the small extra cost.

Looking for a classic dish? Look no further than Fish and Chips (around $13). This dish consists of cod, served with tartar sauce, coleslaw, and a side. The recommended side is, of course, fries. But if you’d prefer the Fish and Chips dish, but with rice instead of chips, that’s fine too.

Steak

Red Lobster has something for everything. If seafood isn’t what you’re looking for, there’s still likely something on the menu for you. For instance, Red Lobster’s Classics menu offers three types of mouth watering steak.

Firstly, you’ve got the 7oz sirloin steak (currently $16). This is seasoned with peppercorn, and served with a choice of two sides.

If you’re hungrier, then you should go for 10 oz NY Strip steak. Keeping it nice and simple, this is also seasoned with peppercorn, and comes with a choice of two sides.

If you feel like steak, but maybe something a bit less filling, then I would definitely recommend 6oz fillet Mignon steak (around $25). This dish is grilled with a peppercorn seasoning, and served with a choice of two sides.

Chicken

Not in the mood for seafood or red meat? Don’t worry, you can always opt for Red Lobster’s chicken dish.

On the Classics menu you will find hand breaded chicken tenders for a little cheaper, priced under $16. These crispy chicken tenders are served hot, along with honey mustard to dip, and two choices of sides.

Sides

Whether you order seafood, steak, or fish, most of the dishes available come with a choice of at least one side, and most of the time with two sides. Wondering what you can choose from? Here’s a breakdown of what sides are on offer.

Firstly, there’s the brand-new side, bacon mac and cheese. Depending on your location, this is typically around $6. This is mac and cheese, topped with bacon, and served in a creamy lobster sauce.

Another delicious side on offer is creamy lobster baked potato (usually around $9). This side dish consists of baked potato, topped with lobster, and served in a creamy sauce.

Other sides you can opt for include, mashed potatoes, broccoli, Orzo rice, sea-salted french fries, Caesar salad, coleslaw, plus many, many more (all around $8). With so many options, there will definitely be something for you.
